When I Think Of Home
|
A MiDiana interpretation of The Wiz.
“When I Think Of Home” was a performance art essay I wrote & art directed for the “art and visual stimuli” site This Recording. Inspired by The Wiz & the MiDiana fandom, I wanted to infuse an accurate historical account of the 1978 Sidney Lumet-directed musical and the relationship between Michael Jackson & Diana Ross with fictionalized fannish interpretations of what exactly that relationship was. The visuals were done in collaboration with photographer Alyssa Katherine Faoro. The actors cast were Sarah Taylor, Daniyah Ysrayl & dancers from House of Monroe. Styling was done by Porcelaine Desire, make-up by Roxanne DeNobrega & hair by Israel Garcia of Salon Daniel. Assistance was provided by Jeba Bowers Murphy. You can read the full essay here.
